Origin Story
Established in 2011 by single black mother, Sydni Leigh, DawLyLand is the product of a decade-long journey of creation. It is the culmination of a lifetime of artistic inspirations including food, fashion, animation, music ~ expressed through beadwork.
DawlyLand is a handcrafted adornment business that specializes in custom Waist Beads and a variety of other accessories. The company was launched in an effort to provide creative release in a very difficult time. The result and response far exceeded any expectations. Others fell in love with the energy DawlyLand offered and joyfully made it a part of their lives.
With over 25 years of experience in beading, Sydni is a born creative with a passion for self expression and entrepreneurship. She has run several small businesses and intends to continue broadening her horizons. However, the bead-based jewelry business holds a special place in her heart. After eleven years of successful operation and a 2-year hiatus, Sydni decided to relaunch the operation. In this new chapter, true to form, she aims to elevate her craft by creating more decadent mixes, giving multi strand pieces a come-back, designing coordinated sets, etc.
